Mindy has been a member of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church since moving to Kirksville back in the early 90s and faithfully attends the 9 am Mass on Sundays. She is married to her husband, Eric, and has two children: Noah, a senior Biology major at Truman State University, and Isabella, a freshman at Kirksville High School. Mindy is a nurse of 19 years, with the last 12 years working at Northeast Pediatrics. Both of her children attended Mary Immaculate School, where she was active in Home and School, serving 6 years as President. She is currently on the School Advisory Council, completing her second term.
Mindy still serves as the voluntary school nurse and has been part of the reorganization of the Youth Ministry program for the past several months. In the past, she has volunteered as a PSR Leader and helped with Vacation Bible School for several years.
Mindy felt called to help with the reorganization of the Youth Ministry program because she believes that youth are the future of the Church. They need to see and witness that people are willing to put time and effort into their faith formation and future. She sees this as a huge opportunity to develop a lasting impression on these teens that they will hopefully carry with them throughout their lives.
Asking parents to put their trust in the team to help form and lead their children’s faith formation is a huge responsibility, but with grace, prayers, and God’s guidance, she believes they are off to a wonderful start. Mindy is excited to see this ministry grow and flourish.
