As many probably are aware but if not, the parish provides a free all access subscription to a Catholic content website and App called Formed. The Augustine Institute, now located in the St. Louis area, provides the content.
As with everything on the internet, there are many options on-line to choose from to help us in our walk as a Catholic, some free, some not. We know that in today’s electronic culture there are many options for young and old but when wondering what to look at on our TV’s, our laptops, or our smartphones, here is a site that will have positive, eternal benefits, even if you want to “veg out” after a tough day. There is something for kids, tweens, teens, young adults, and adults. Families can watch up lifting programming together that helps to build up our faith. There are the daily Mass Scripture readings and reflections on those readings. You can watch actual full length movies or series on the saints, documentaries and other Catholic topics. There are animated programs for kids of all ages and other youth programs. Faith formation studies, bible studies, and small group studies are just some of the content you can enjoy.
So whether you would like serious study, praying with a group, (even when you are by yourself), needing confidence to share our faith, or just relaxing with faith filled content, Formed is a great place to go. We all need that faith boost to help us to keep moving forward on our life journey. It is also great content for those you might know who are not active in the faith. Sometimes, we just lose sight of the greatness that our Catholic faith offers and this site can reintroduce us to all those great lessons.
Kids, Pre-K and Elementary School: -Brother Francis, the story of St. Nicholas. -Light the First Advent Candle. Marcam's Advent and Christmas. -30 Minutes BC-- retelling of the final 30 minutes before Jesus' birth. -Christmas Special: Laugh and Grow, Bible for Kids
Youth: Middle School, High School -Prepare Your Heart: Advent with Fr. Agustino Torres, CFR --Encountering Emmanuel with the Heart with Heather Khym These titles are not just one time shows but represent the first episode in a series that leads up to Christmas.
Adults This program is non Christmas related, fitting any season of the year. I only watched the first episode which I found hugely inspirational and moving: -Saints and Sinners, a multi-episode program. People who suffer great life challenges-- physical, spiritual, emotional-- report on how their particular difficulty in life brought them closer to God.
